Mr. David Lee Jones

David L. Jones of Weirton passed away on December 11, 2023, at the age of 74 in the Pittsburgh VA hospital.

David was an honorable veteran of the Vietnam War and served his country with honor and dignity. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.

David retired from Weirton Steel after 28 years. He was an outdoorsman at heart and had a passion for hunting, fishing, and golf. What brought David the most joy was his adoration for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by Dolly and Melvin Jones (parents), John Paul Jones (son), Robert and Charlie Jones (brothers), and Nila McNeely and Linda Carlton (sisters).

David is survived by his loving wife Mary Jones, of 52 years, his son Daniel Jones, grandchildren, Brandon, Danielle, and Johnna Jones, great-grandchildren, Jayce, Serenity, Chloe, and Gavin.

David was extremely close to his siblings. He is survived by his sister, Sarah Martin (Paul), and brother Kenny Jones, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

David’s request for cremation has been honored. His cremation will take place at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV.

The family will have a private interment and a celebration of David’s life at a later date after the New Year.
