David Lee Price (84) of New Cumberland, WV., passed away on Thursday, May 4th after battling cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones during his final days, which he was able to spend at home thanks to the wonderful care of Valley Hospice.

David was a U.S. Army Veteran who had a flourishing career in the airlines, then retired to pursue his true passion in the world of horse racing. Beloved by all who knew him, David was a wonderful and caring son, brother, husband, uncle, and above all, an amazing father.

Born on June 13, 1938, to Otto and Mildred Price, David loved the outdoors, his family, and his horses.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Susan Seloover-Price and two sisters, Nancy Vorel and MaryLou Kerr.

He is survived by brother Edward Price, his two daughters Lora Price and Holly Price-Jancart, his life-partner Peggy Barber, niece Amie Kerr, nephews Edward Price, Jr., John David Price and Andrew Kerr; four grandchildren, Autumn and Aaron Long, Jacob Seth and Olivia Maquelle Susan Jancart as well as two great grandchildren, Harrison Otto and Harper Jane Long.

A memorial service is being held at a future date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, please offer donations to Trinity United Methodist Church in New Cumberland, WV., to which he regularly donated.

He was known as Uncle Dave by many, and he will be greatly missed, yet live in our hearts, always and forever.

  1. Candle Selection 2On behalf of the entire membership Of the Soaring Eagles of USAir we offer our deepest sympathy and condolences to Peggy Barber, and the entire Price family.
Dave was so well thought of by our group that he was made an Honorary Member of our organization in 2017. Although he was never able make one of our reunions, perhaps we will be reunited one day where it really counts.

Rest In Peace Dave, you really were on of the “Good guys”
