David Thomas Gain, 61, of Weirton, was received into the arms of his Lord Saturday, June 21, 2008. David was born April 11, 1947 in Clarksburg, WV, the son of Ann Marie (Fratto) Gain and the late Filbert A. Gain. David worked for Weirton / Arcelor Mittal Steel for 38 years as a Senior Reclamation Technician. He also served our country proudly for 7 years in the United States Army Reserves. He was a member of the St. Joseph the Worker Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the WSX-25 Year Club, and an avid bowler. In addition to his mother, David is survived by his wife of 38 years, Bettie Lou Gain; his son, Michael David Gain of Wilmington, NC; his daughter Rosemarie Gain of Weirton; and his faithful companion Jack the dog. David also leaves behind many friends who will miss him dearly. Visitation will be held Monday from 6-8pm and Tuesday from 1-3 & 6-8pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00am Wednesday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Weirton with Reverend Father Dean Borgmeyer as celebrant. Entombment will follow at the St. Paul Cemetery Mausoleum in Weirton with military rites given by the American Legion Post 10 Honor Guard. Donations in memory of David may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Church or to the American Legion Post 10 Honor Guard.
