Debra Sue Mackey, 47, of Weirton, passed away Monday, December 08, 2008 at her home. Born April 1, 1961 in Weirton, she was the daughter of Don and Shirley Lantz Mackey. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Foy and Louella Lantz and great niece Carly Hildreth. Debra was a member of the Salvation Army where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. Debra loved the Christmas Season and was very active with the Salvation Army Bell Ringing campaign. In addition to her parents, Debra is survived by her sister Donna Newbold and her husband Mike of Lisbon, OH; brothers Donald F. Mackey and his wife Robin of Reidsville, NC and David Mackey and his wife Juliette of Spring, Texas; several nieces and nephews and special friend Theresa McGowan. She also leaves her great nephews Ethan Lively, Dakota and Seth Holbrook all of New Cumberland, WV and Tyler Mackey of Weirton whom she adored. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Additional visitation will be held Thursday from 12:30 until the 1:30PM funeral services at the Salvation Army Chapel Captain Ed Long officiating.   6. I am so very sorry about Aunt Debbie’s passing. She will be in my heart forever! It makes it easier to know she is taking care of my babygirl Carly Renae!!   7. Hey Its me Jessie, Im so sorry that I couldnt be there to say good bye. I loved her very much I know she is in heaven with my baby girl. It is very hard to move on without out being able to mourn with my family but I know she is happier than ever and that helps me keep going. I love you all and miss you very much……Jessie

  8. Dec. 21- Dona and family, I am so sorry to have learned abrout Debbie this morning. If I would have known, I would have been there for visitation. My heart feels for each of you. The suddeness of this is breath-taking. You live in a fog for weeks. But, aren’t we blessed to have had them? I remember Debbie’s smile and laughter. She was absolutley adorable!!!! Take one day at a time. Donna, please call me when you have a chance. I still am not being to socialable. The hurt is so present. Take care, and I love you Donna, you are precious!   9. Shirley, Just a note to let you know that Debbie was a very sweet person and she was like a sister to me, we had a lot of good times together and I will never ever forget her. I loved her very much and I will miss her a lot. I’m so sorry for your loss but now she’s in heaven with God and we’ll get to see her there one day. God bless your family.
