Dennis M. "Denny" Krivak

Dennis Michael “Denny” Krivak, 70, of Paris, PA, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

Born on January 14, 1956, in Bedford, Pennsylvania, Denny was the son of the late Michael and Helena Nagy Krivak. His life was forever changed at the age of ten when he lost his mother in 1966.

His family made Paris, Pennsylvania, their home, where Denny grew up and graduated from Union High School in Burgettstown with the Class of 1974.

One of the greatest blessings of Denny’s life began when he met Janice Lynn Phillips after his family moved from Bedford, Pennsylvania. Their childhood friendship grew into a high school love story, and on April 2, 1976, he married his high school sweetheart. Together, they were blessed with two children and three grandchildren.

Denny was the very definition of a hardworking provider. For more than four decades, he dedicated himself to the steel industry, first as a millwright with Weirton Steel, ISG, and ArcelorMittal for 32 years. When the mill transitioned to Cleveland-Cliffs, Denny continued his career for another ten years, faithfully commuting to Warren, Ohio. Whether working days, nights, or overtime, Denny never complained. His motivation was simply providing the very best life possible for his family. His loyalty, selflessness, and unmatched work ethic earned the respect of his family and friends.

While Denny took great pride in his career, nothing compared to the pride he felt in his family. He never missed an opportunity to cheer on his children and later his grandchildren, traveling wherever the games, matches, or competitions took them; from Burgettstown to the State of Florida. His presence in the stands was a constant reminder of his unconditional love and support.

Family vacations to Hilton Head, SC, became an annual tradition that Denny eagerly anticipated. Those weeks together created countless memories that will be cherished for generations. At home, he found peace in the outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing and passing those traditions on to his son. He was a life member of the Paris Sportsman’s Club and a member of the North American Hunting Club.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Weirton and a mason in the Richard Vaux Masonic Lodge No. 454.

In addition to his parents, Denny was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Urbowicz.

He will be remembered with love by his wife of fifty years, Janice L. (Phillips) Krivak; his son, Jason N. (Marcie) Krivak; his daughter, Torie A. (Michael) Mazurek; his three grandchildren, Aubry, Alec, and Andrew Krivak; his sister, Judith (Robert) Welch.

In accordance with Denny’s wishes, he will be cremated at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV, and laid to rest at Paris Cemetery.
