Domenica “Minnie” Brancazio Malloy, 89, of Weirton, WV, passed away on May 7, 2025, at WVU Medicine – Weirton.
Born on September 15, 1935, in Weirton, Minnie was one of five children of Antonio and Antonia Paolo Brancazio. A 1953 graduate of Weir High School, Minnie was known for her determination, strong will, and zest for life.
Minnie began her professional career at Kaiser Steel Corporation, where she worked diligently for 21 years as an administrative assistant before retiring in 1985. Her dedication didn’t stop there—she later served another nine years in the same role with the Fontana Unified School District in California, retiring once again in 1996.
A devout Catholic, Minnie was a faithful member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church in Weirton. She was also active with the Christian Mothers and devoted time volunteering at Weirton Medical Center. Her resilience and independence were hallmarks of her character. As she aged, she lived by the motto: “No cane, no walker, no nursing home!”—truly embodying the spirit of the Frank Sinatra classic, “My Way.”
She had a passion for cooking and was always eager to try new recipes, sharing her culinary delights with family and friends. She enjoyed watching televised Mass and keeping in touch with loved ones via Facebook, remaining engaged and sharp well into her later years.
In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by her first husband, John A. Yakubesin (1970), and her second husband, Robert “Bibber” Malloy (2003). She was also preceded by her siblings, Joseph, Dominic “Tom,” and Patsy T. Brancazio, and Mary A. Brancazio; as well as her beloved niece and nephew, Cindy and Joseph Brancazio.
She leaves behind a large and loving family, including her sister-in-law Marie Brancazio; nieces and nephews Jean Brancazio Pearl (Dave), Anthony Brancazio (Lauren), Geri Corrado (Dave), Mary Beth Oko (Jeff), Judy Brancazio, Rick (Gail), Michael (Carrie), and Robert (Christine) Brancazio, Kathy Granato (Donald), Patty Brancazio-Wade (Calvin), Theresa Caldwell (Art), and Andrea Brancazio-Dulaney; along with many great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews who will carry her memory forward.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Weirton, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow at Saint Paul’s Cemetery.
Minnie’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers of the 5th and 8th floors at WVU Medicine – Weirton and Valley Hospice for their attentive and loving care.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Joseph the Worker Memorial Fund or to Valley Hospice.

We absolutely adored Minnie–she always volunteered at our Masquerade jewelry shows there. She was absolutely one of the kindest and sweetest people ever-we will miss her greatly.
She was a sweet lady who shared her newspaper with my mom for years!
She is missed.
