Donald Gene Wells of Colliers passed away at the Weirton Medical Center on October 23, 2021; he was 85 years old. He was born in Wetzel County, WV., on September 8. 1936, a son of the late William S. and Delphia Childers Wells. Donald retired with over thirty years of service as a millwright with Hancock Manufacturing Company in Toronto. Donald enjoyed the outdoors, taking his family on camping trips throughout West Virginia and up and down the East Coast. However, his favorite place to camp and hunt was an area very special to him, Pick-N-Paw Ridge, an area very close to where he was raised. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy L. Wells, who passed on December 5, 2003. His brothers, Paul, Edgar, Ralph, Ray, Glen, and Forrest Wells, and sisters, Pearl Starkey, Garnett, and Amanda Wells and daughter-in-law, Beverly Wells. Left to cherish Donald’s memory is his sister Audra Powell of Colliers, his sons William, James, Charles Wells, all of Colliers and Donald (Tammy) Wells of New Philadelphia, OH., daughters Tammy (Ronald) Smith of Weirton, Lisa (Robert) Robinson of Colliers, Terri (Robert) Anderson of Berrichsville, WV, and Jeanette (Tom) Sadderfield of Mannington, WV., 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, from 2:00- 6:00 PM, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday.   2. My heart hurts. This man lived with us and was more of a brother than an uncle. Over the years you grow and have your own family’s but the memories you have can never go away. I would gladly jump on the back of that motorcycle and ride with you anywhere again. The fun I had and ice cream we ate that mom never knew. I will always love you.
