Donna Lee Gracie

Donna Lee Gracie, 83, of Weirton, WV, passed away unexpectedly while resting in her recliner at her home on Friday, December 12, 2025.

Donna was born on May 15, 1942, in Weirton, West Virginia, one of two children born to the late Leo and Josephine Ann Litwin Shank. She was raised in Weirton and was a graduate of Weir High School, Class of 1960. On October 5, 1963, Donna married the love of her life, Roger Gracie. They were blessed with three children and two grandsons. Donna’s children remember her as humble, compassionate, and selfless; always placing her family first in everything she did.

Outside her home, she went to work for Weirton Steel initially as a secretary and finished her career at Weirton Medical Center in the Data Processing Department, where she worked for 25 years.

Deeply rooted in her Polish heritage, Donna embraced and cherished her traditions throughout her life. She found great joy in baking and cooking, especially preparing beloved Polish dishes that brought family and friends together around her table.

When her children were young, Donna eagerly anticipated annual family vacations to Conneaut Lake and Ocean City, Maryland, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime. Closer to home, she enjoyed simple pleasures such as playing cards with friends, crocheting, and baking for those she loved.

Donna was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Shank, and her husband, Roger Gracie, who passed away on April 9, 2022.

She will be remembered with love by her sons, Michael Gracie and John (Karen) Gracie; her daughter, Mary Gracie Richmond; and her  grandsons, Dainen Richmond and Jacob Dunne.

In accordance with Donna’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Her family kindly asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Memorial donations in Donna’s memory can be made to the ASPCA or your local animal shelter.
