Doris Jane Sadler

Doris Jane Sadler, 89, of Weirton passed away on Wednesday April 28, 2021.
Doris was born in Harrisville, WV on July 7, 1931 to Ancil W. and Vallie E. Washburn Riddle.
On November 24, 1958, she married Paul M. Sadler. Paul passed away on April 8, 1997.
Many people would remember Doris for her involvement in the community. She was past president of the Weirton BPW where she was the Woman of the Year in 1985; past president of the Order of the Eastern Star social committee; member of the Weirton Women’s Club and Literary Department; and the AARP 2788.
She nourished her faith for over 75 years at the First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School in the Samaritan Class.
Doris was also proud of her time helping area residents select a permanent memorial for their love ones while representing Steckman Memorials in Steubenville, OH.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Doris was preceded in death by her daughters, Susan Cooper Phillips and Sharon Cooper Neeley; her step- son, Pastor Paul Sadler, Jr.; her, brothers, Paul and Bruce Riddle and her special friend, Jim Blankenship.
She will be remembered with love by three her grandchildren, Eric, and Jamie Moore and Zachary Morris; six great grandchildren, Kirsten (Adam) Surtherin, Chaz McDonald, Cody, Kalie, Corey and Kyle Moore; three great great grandchildren, Alyna and Allison Surtherin and Charlie Moore; her sister, Linda Heilman; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday 9AM until 11 AM at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM
Rev Tim Kelley will preside
Interment will follow at Highland Hill Memorial Gardens.
