Doris Mae Wade

Doris Mae (Hendershot) Wade, 84, Of Weirton passed away on Monday May 18, 2015, surrounded by her loving family, at the Weirton Geriatric Center. Doris was born on July 12, 1930 in Butler District, WV, a daughter of the late Denzel and Laura Hendershot. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, flea markets, crafting and her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, which makes up five living generations of family. She also enjoyed wintering in Florida. Preceding her in death were her brothers Clarence and James Hendershot, her grandson Jeremy Ash and her nephew Richard "Ricky" Murphy. Doris is survived by her husband of 67 years, Harry P. Wade, her five children Terry Wade and companion Vi Strope of Silver Springs, FL, Linda Smith and husband Donald of Colliers, Judy Ash and husband David of Weirton, Bruce Wade and wife Sharon of Cadiz, OH and Michael Wade and wife Lianna of Colliers, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and her dog Cookie. Also surviving are her brothers Charles Hendershot and wife Debbie of Colliers and Denzel Hendershot and wife Liz of Weirton, sisters Barbara Snyder and husband David and Sandra "Cookie" Murphy and husband James of Paris, PA. Per Doris's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral services. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the love and care of the Weirton Geriatric Staff and Brightwood Center.
