Dorothy Louise Robinson, of Weirton, WV, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2024, at the age of 85.
Born on February 11, 1939, in Steubenville, OH, Dorothy was a daughter of the late Kenneth S. and Victoria Marek Higgins.
She graduated from Weir High School in 1957 and continued her education at the Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing, where she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse.
Dorothy dedicated her professional life to caring for others, working at Weirton General Hospital and the Hancock County Health Department.
Dorothy was a devoted mother and grandmother, raising five children and doting on her eight grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
A devout member of the Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Dorothy’s faith was an integral part of her life. She attended daily Mass, served as a Eucharistic Minister, was a member of the Christian Mothers and The Rosary Society, and served as an Altar Server. Her dedication extended beyond the church walls as she brought communion to shut-ins and parishioners in nursing homes and hospitals, ensuring they remained connected to their faith.
In her earlier years, Dorothy was also a Camp Fire Girl Leader, guiding and nurturing young girls, including her daughter, Michele. Her commitment to service and community was evident in all aspects of her life.
In her leisure time, Dorothy found joy in planting flowers around her home.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth S. and Victoria Marek Higgins; her husband, Harry James Robinson; her two brothers, Kenneth S. and Stanley A. Higgins; and her sister, Nancy Reyes.
She leaves behind a loving family who will remember her with enduring love and gratitude including her four sons, Michael, Mark (Pia), Sean (Deb), and Brian (Amy) Robinson; her daughter, Michele A. Robinson; and her eight grandchildren, Nicholas (Teirria Duffy) Robinson, Christine (Matt Barnes) Robinson, Hope (Jared Schneider) Robinson, Grace Robinson, Casey (fiancé Andrew Sleege) Robinson, Kendall Robinson, Isabella Robinson, and Patrick Robinson.

My prayers and sympathy are extended to the Robinson family. Your mom was a great and tremendous lady. I have so many fond memories of all of you!
Always remember
To the Robinson family, My husband and I had the pleasure of knowing Dorothy through the church, during the many functions she volunteered to do. It was people like her that kept our little church going. She will certainly be missed but will fondly be remembered by her smile on Sunday’s before mass. God bless, Cathy and Jack Arango
Prayers and sympathy for the Robinson family!
Your mom was a very special person, especially to the Kallay family!
We have so many fond memories of her as a friend, choir member and caring for their spiritual needs later in life!
Rest in Peace, Dorothy!
To Mark and family, Sorry for the loss of your family. May she RIP.
Sympathy to the family. I first met Dorothy in the Weir High Band. We graduated together from Weir High in 1957. She was always a special person caring for others. RIP
Michelle and Family, prayers and sympathy to you all.
