Dorothy "Toots" Truax, 85, of Weirton, a beautiful, sweet and caring person who took great pride in caring for her children and grandchildren, went to her final rest Monday, November 30, 2009.
Born September 17, 1924 in Weirton, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Mary Sheotes Mishlan. She was also preceded in death by her husband Blaine Truax, son Larry Truax, daughters Patty Truax and Lorraine Truax Sutton and brothers, William G. and Ernest G. Sheotes.
Surviving family members include daughter Barbara Smedley and her husband Jim of Follansbee; son William Truax and his wife Dorothy of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren Lori Smedley Matta (Lee), Steve Truax (Susie), Sherry Truax, Melissa Truax, Shannon Truax, T.J. Sutton, Brandon Truax; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters Catherine Sheotes Vidich and Vierma Sheotes Stanar both of Weirton and a host of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 4-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where funeral services will be conducted at 11AM Thursday. Interment will be in Paris Cemetery.
