dwayne kirkpatrick

Dwayne Kirkpatrick, 63, of Weirton, WV, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the Carriage Inn in Steubenville, Ohio.

Born in Wheeling, WV on September 8, 1962, he was one of three sons of Charlotte Cain Kirkpatrick and the late LeRoy Kirkpatrick.

Dwayne was a graduate of Brooke High School and worked in the Housekeeping Department at Weirton Medical Center. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting on his uncle’s farm in Wetzel County and fishing in the area’s streams. Dwayne never met a stranger and had a way of getting along with everyone he encountered. Although he enjoyed music and working with computers, he especially liked being around people and sharing time with family and friends.

He was a member of Colliers United Methodist Church and the former Weirton Heights Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.

He will be remembered with love by his mother, Charlotte Kirkpatrick; his brothers, David (Jennifer) Kirkpatrick and Robert (Susan “Nikki”) Kirkpatrick; his nephews, Kevin Childers and Hunter Kirkpatrick; and his niece, Kaylee Kirkpatrick.

Visitation will be held Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV.

Dr. Scott Mapes will preside.

Interment will follow at Saint John’s Haven of Rest Cemetery.

Dwayne’s family would like to thank the staff of the Carriage Inn and Southern Care Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion.

Memorial contributions may be made to Colliers United Methodist Church.

Growing up in Colliers, Dwayne, and Dave were friends of my uncle and I went to school with Bob. My prayers go out to all of you and everyone who loved Dwayne, during this difficult time of loss. He will certainly be missed.
