E. Sylvia Krupinski Fisher of Weirton, WV, a faithful woman who always thought of others first went to meet her Lord and Savior on June 9, 2021. She was 89. On February 6, 1932, Eileen Sylvia was born to Edward and Victoria Barbara Krupinski. She was Edward and Victoria’s only child. Sylvia, as she was known to her family and friends graduated from Saint Clairsville High School in 1949. In her young adult life, she was a tin-flopper at Weirton Steel, and a clerk at Kroger’s and Loblaws Grocery stores. When her children were young, she was the lunch lady at Broadview Elementary School in Weirton, but her life’s calling was to be a certified nurse’s assistant. That calling was fulfilled when she worked as a nurse’s aid at the Carriage Inn, Brightwood, and Serra Manor for over 16 years. During her career in nursing, she cared for many patients and her patients became part of her family. Sylvia loved her Victor Street neighborhood and enjoyed living by her close friends, Kathy, Peggy, Carla, and Toot. She enjoyed playing cards for 60 years in her neighborhood card club. She loved to go to lunch with her lady friends, and her home was always filled with forties swing-era music. Sylvia was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church and attended services with her family at Weirton Covenant Church. Throughout her life, Sylvia made many lifelong friends and for those who loved her, we extend our deepest sympathy. She was preceded in death by her parents. She will be remembered with love by her son, Keith “Rusty” (Cynthia) Fisher; her daughter, Denise (John Zatezalo) Shuma; her six grandchildren, Edward Fisher, Sarah Eileen Lamone, Sunni (Rick) Prosser, Julie (Nate) Taliani, Daniel (Kristen) Fisher, and Emily R.(Brandon Barker) Shuma; her thirteen great-grandchildren, Jubilee and Aviah Prosser, Gloria Robinson, Logan, Ethan, Jonah, and Lincoln Fisher, Aubrey and Orion Barker, Talia Lamone, Gabriella, Gianna, and Jaden Taliani; her two great-great-grandchildren, Cora and Ellie Prosser; and many lifelong friends she met along her way. Visitation will be 2-4 PM Friday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton. A celebration of Sylvia’s life will continue at 4 PM at the Weirton Covenant Church where stories and Sylvia’s favorite foods will be shared with family and friends. Sylvia will be cremated and laid to rest with her parents at Saint Paul’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Joseph the Worker Church or Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
