Edith Kathleen Brown

Edith Kathleen Brown, 82, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 in the Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, OH. Born October 19, 1931 in Hemlock, WV, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Estella Howell Rector. She was also preceded in death by her husband Wilmer R. Brown, Jr. on August 31, 2009, son Michael Gene Brown, brother O'Dell Rector and sister Geraldine Roush. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker who enjoyed cleaning her home and cooking for her family and friends. Edith is survived by her son William Brown; daughter Karen (Joseph) LaMantia all of Weirton; brothers Delbert and Richard Rector of Carrollton, OH and Darrell Rector of Malvern, OH; sisters Pauline Postlethwait of Weirton and Irene Johnson of Carrollton, OH; grandchildren Rich and Sherry Brown, Gina Skunza, Janna LaMantia and Josh Seigley and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday 4-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be held at 11AM Saturday. The Reverend Darrell Maze will officiate. Interment will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
