Edna M. Gunion DiCarlo, of Weirton, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH. Her loving son, and daughter in law were at her side.
Edna was born in Follansbee, WV, a daughter of the late Simeon and Vernon V. Gaines Waugh. She was also preceded in death by her husband's Otha C. Gunion in 1978 and Evo DiCarlo in 1996; five brothers and four sisters.
Edna was a former employee of Weirton Medical Center where she worked in the EKG Department.
She enjoyed singing, dancing and traveling.
She is survived by her son Donald Gunion and his wife Candy of Weirton; daughters Gladys Earnhardt and her husband Sam of Salisbury, NC and Birdie Palmer of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister Faye Deuley of Wellsburg, WV; five grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday 10AM until the 11AM funeral service at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Majors David and Susan Dewan will officiate. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.
