Edna Serra

Edna Serra 55, of 2525 Penna. Ave, Weirton, died December 27, 2001, at the Weirton Medical Center. She was born February 2, 1946 in Weirton; the daughter of the late Howard and Mable Culler Glover and her adopted Mother Edna Anderson. Edna’s husband Charles Serra, her two brothers Lloyd and David Glover, and one sister Sarah Anderson also preceded her. Edna worked as a nurse’s aide at the Weirton Geriatric Center in Weirton. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Weirton. She is survived by a son Alfonso J. Serra of Weirton, a daughter Dr. Renee Beirne and her husband Timothy of Richmond, VA. She has one granddaughter, Olivia Grace Beirne of Richmond, VA. Edna has four brothers, Howard Glover of Kansas City, Missouri, Wallace Glover of Altoona, Iowa, Earl Glover of Colfax, Iowa, and Raymond Glover of Weirton, three sisters Nora Tomes, Erma Davidson both of Weirton and Caroline Kracjovic of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She has two adopted sisters, Annamaye Solter of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and Nora Lyons of Follansbee, WV. Visitation will be Sunday, December 30, 2001 from 1-3 and 7-9 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, where a prayer service will be held at 7.30PM Funeral liturgy with Mass will be Monday at 10:00AM at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Weirton. Interment will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Weirton.
