Edward Alfred Morgan, Jr., 76, of Weirton, died Tuesday Jan. 23, 2001 at the Weirton Medical Center. He was born on May 16, 1924, in Wellsburg, WV the son of the late Edward Alfred Morgan, Sr. and Johnita Templeton Patterson Morgan. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Sharon Morgan Smarrella and a sister Virginia Ann Burch. Edward worked for National Steel as an electrical general foreman in the Steubenville Plant until his retirement in 1982. He was a WWII navy veteran. He was a member of Cove United Presbyterian Church, American Legion, VFW, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Weirton Moose Lodge, and A.A.R.P. Surviving are his wife, Wanda Jean Thompson Morgan, of Weirton, whom he married on April 11, 1944; a son, Edward ''Flash'' Morgan III and his wife Cindy, of Weirton; a son-in-law, Eugene Smarrella, of Weirton; two grandchildren, Richard Lee Milbert and wife Lynn, of Moundsville, WV, and Kamela Dawn Morgan, of Weirton; and four great grandchildren, Devin, Rich, Desiree, and Brandy. Visitation hours are Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home and Friday from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM at Cove United Presbyterian Church, Weirton. Rev. Bruce Ballantine and Rev. Terry Stoops will preside. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Colliers, where military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion, VFW, and Tri-State Marine Corps.
