Edward L. Russell Jr.
February 13, 1951 ~ October 8, 2019
Edward L. Russell, Jr., 68 of Steubenville and formerly Weirton, died October 8, 2019 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family and special friends.
Ed is survived by his loving wife Lucy (DiGiacomo) Russell; his son Philip (Jennifer) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his daughter Carly (Doug) Rauch of Steubenville and his most precious and adored grandchildren Alec, Ryan, Hillary, Jack and Russ and his very special great-niece Mia. He is also survived by his siblings Donna (Jim) Horner, Stella (John) Andriano and David (Debbie) Russell of Steubenville; his sisters-in-law Andria (David) Post of Dumfries, VA and Roseanne (Paul) Pitocco of Pittsburgh and his loving nieces and nephews.
Ed proudly served in the United States Marine Corp and was retired from Weirton Steel Company. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing cards and watching his Cleveland Browns but his greatest joy was spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Friday from 1:00 pm until the time of funeral services at 6:00 pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton.

Eddie run crane in the slab yard , I knew him well. we also worked at Walmart in Sporting goods for a while after retiring from the mill ,great worker,hard worker,he liked to keep busy,get his job done.You got the last switch unloaded Ed,break time ! Rest in Peace my friend!

Ed Russell was a great customer and a better than great man. He was a very hard worker. Also, he had a terrific sense of humor. I always enjoyed my conversations with him. He will be missed by all who knew him. My sincerest sympathies to his family and friends. Marty Hauser
