Edward Lorenz

Edward Lorenz, 88, of Weirton passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in Life Line Hospital in Wintersville, Ohio. He was the husband of Despina P. Misoyianis Lorenz to whom he was married for 53 years.
Born on June 12, 1924 in Steubenville, Edward was a son of the late Nicholas and Sarah Reimer Lorenz. He was preceded in death by his grandson Justin Ballato in 2003; four brothers Frank, Nick, John and George Lorenz and two sisters Millie Lorenz and Sarah Dineen.
Edward proudly served his country during World War II in the US Navy as a Gunner's Mate 3rd class. He retired from National Steel Corporation where he was a crane operator and was a member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church and V.F.W. #2716, Weirton.
In addition to his wife Despina he is survived by a daughter Gina Bettino of Weirton; a son Nick Lorenz (Kathy) of Wellsburg; five grandchildren Jeffrey Ballato, Victoria and Jordan Bettino, Nicholas Lorenz and Amanda; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a special god-daughter Stephanie (Misogiane) Wilson.
Funeral and Burial Services with Military Rites will be held privately at the convenience of his family.
Gina, I am so sorry to hear about your father. Take comfort in knowing he is now serving with our lord .May he comfort you in the difficult days to come.
Gina & Family, I am so sad to hear of loss. Your father was such a gentle & loving person. He will truly be missed. The old neighborhood will never be the same. Heaven has gained another beautiful angel. You & your family are in my thoughts & prayers.

Your dad and husband was a great man and I have many fond memories of your family growing up on Franklin St. I hope you find some comfort in knowing he was not only a great father and husband but a positive influence to many in the neighborhood.
