Eleanore S. Peterson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2024, surrounded by her family and the compassionate staff at Grace Cottage.

She was born on December 2, 1927, in Weirton, one of four children to Zygmunt and Sophie Krukowski Komorowski.

Eleanore’s early years were shaped by her education at Sacred Heart grade school, followed by her graduation from Catholic Central High School. She remained deeply devoted to her faith, finding solace and community at Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church. Eleanore’s marriage to her beloved husband, John, on July 28, 1947, marked the beginning of a lifetime of love and partnership. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love for their six children. Eleanore found fulfillment in her role as a homemaker, taking pride in caring for her family and creating a nurturing environment for all who entered her home.

In addition to her parents, Eleanore was preceded in death by her devoted husband John on September 17, 2015, brothers John and Chester Komorowski, and sister Laura Maxian.
