Eli (Scotty) Loncar, 88, of Mingo Junction, OH passed away August 16, 2004 at Weirton Medical Center. He was born December 1, 1915, in Midland, PA, the son of the late Mike and Bertha Bastera Lonchar. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Harriette Adyniec Loncar; 3 brothers, Nick, Mitzi and Benny Lonchar; and a sister, Mary Martin. Eli retired from National Steel with over 30 years of service in the Tin Mill Department. He was a member of the Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church and served in the US Army during WWII. He is survived by his brother, Pete Lonchar of Weirton, WV; and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be Wednesday August 18, 2004 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton, WV where funeral services will be held at 12 PM Thursday. A Pomen Service will be held 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville, OH. Share tributes with his family at www.grecohertnick.com.
