Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I have many treasured memories of Uncle Lash. As a child I spent many hours in his loving home. He was always gracious and attentive to me. I felt welcome and special when I visited. I remember one night in particular. Upstairs in the children’s bedroom, in the dark of the night, my precious cousin, Leah, shared the plan of salvation with me. I was scared out of my wits when she explain how I would go to hell without Jesus in my heart. I ran to Uncle Lash’s room and insisted that he drive me home,NOW. I knew hell was where I was headed and I was afraid. He patiently talked with me but I wasn’t ready to receive Jesus and of course Uncle Lash knew that. He calmly put me in the car and drove the 20 miles to Chester from Weirton. In spite of the lateness of the hour he talked all the way home about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Although he was unable to lead me to Christ, at the time, he planted good seeds in his niece’s six year old heart. I’ll never forget the way he didn’t get angry at me and demonstrated the love of Christ. I was able to share with him that I did make Jesus my Lord and Savior 19 years later. GOD IS GOOD. Some of my fondest childhood memories were made at the Robinson’s home. God Bless all of you for being part of my life. Joan Haught Shallenberger 11-26-03
