Elizabeth Ann Andrews

Elizabeth Ann Andrews, 86, of Philadelphia, PA, formerly of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at the Vitas Hospice Unit of St. Agnus Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Born May 6, 1919 in Steubenville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Victoria Karpinski Zalewski. Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Stanley Andrews, son Raymond Andrews, daughter Mary Ann Andrews Healy, brothers John, Walter and Casimir Zalewski and sisters Florence Zalewski and Mary Zalewski Sobolewski. Elizabeth was a homemaker and a member of the Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Weirton. She was also a member of the Christian Mothers Association, the Rosary Society and was a volunteer for Penny Bingo. Elizabeth loved to bake for her family and was an avid gardener. Elizabeth’s survivors include her daughter Bernice Andrews of Philadelphia with whom she resided since 2001; sister Virginia Zalewski Kovaleski of Steubenville, OH and grandchildren Michael Healy, Karen Healy and Theresa Healy. The family will receive friends Friday 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10AM Saturday at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Reverend Father Kent Durig presiding. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
