Elizabeth Ann Lancaster
September 10, 1935 ~ August 3, 2020
Elizabeth Ann “Liz” Lancaster of Weirton died August 3, 2020, after a three- year battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She was 84 years old.
Liz was born on September 10, 1935, in Middlebourne, WV the youngest of eight children born to Hugh and Ida (Harter) Buck.
She attended a one-room schoolhouse and eventually moved to the Ohio Valley to work at Colliers Steel. While living in the Weirton Area she started dating a guy from back home in Middlebourne that was working at Weirton Steel. As children they did not care for each other, as adults, they fell in love.
Ray and Liz married on November 3, 1962.
They started a family and had two sons, Doug and Tim. Ray worked at Weirton Steel where he retired after 39 ½ years on the railroad track gang, and Liz took care of the home. After the boys where raised, Liz went back to work, where she worked for Professional Health and Home Care. She was a caregiver for many family members.
Liz nourished her faith at Oakland United Presbyterian Church and was a Christian Mother and a BINGO helper. She enjoyed her time helping others by making mats for the homeless and needy with her friends at Paris Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, Liz was preceded in death by her two sisters, Opal Long and Patricia Irene Haven; and her five brothers, Ira, Brady, Floyd, Bruce, and Junior Dale Buck.
Liz will be remembered with love by her husband, Ray F. Lancaster, her two sons, Douglas Ray Lancaster of Weirton, WV and Timothy Lee (Chris) Lancaster of New Martinsville, WV; a special sister in law, Inez Buck of New Martinsville, WV; a special brother in law and friend Albert Lancaster; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11:00 AM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV.
Rev. Larry Barkley will preside.
Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oakland Presbyterian Church, Salvation Army, Goodwill, or the charity of your choice.
Masks are required when entering the funeral home.

I will miss Aunt Liz❤️. She was a good hearted person. Enjoyed many visits and calls and texts over the years. May God give her loved ones peace. Praying for Uncle Ray and Doug and Tim.
Ray im so sorry for loss. Liz and daddy was cousin. I loved living by her on cove rd. Always looked up to her. So so pretty. You are in my prayers.
