elizabeth mcgrogan
Elizabeth Ann McGrogan, 83, of Weirton, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 4, 2016. Born August 3, 1932 in Weirton, she was a daughter of the late Luigi and Laura (Boniti) Julian. She was also preceded in death by her son Joseph McGrogan Jr., and brothers Emilio and Dominic Julian. Elizabeth worked as a homemaker, taking care of her family. She enjoyed playing cards with them and going on outings to Mountaineer. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. Elizabeth is survived by her husband Joseph W. McGrogan of Weirton, son John "Neil" Hughes of Westerly, RI; daughter in law Paula McGrogan of Weirton; grandchildren Amber and Rachel McGrogan of Weirton and Joseph and Holly Hughes of Westerly, RI; brother Anthony Julian of Weirton and sisters Virginia Julian Costantini of Steubenville and Margaret Julian Turkily of Midway, PA. There will be no visitation and private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton. I have so many fond memories of her with the other moms in the neighborhood (my mom Ann, Ada, and Theresa); get them together & they were their own party…I will keep you all in my prayers.

  6. I am so very sorry to hear about Lizzy. I didn’t get yo spend much time with her but many times I would run into her at the store or graveyard. She always welcomed me with a smile,kindness and asked how I was doing even though she barely knew me. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time.Lizzy is a special blessing to many who knew her and the compassion of her heart she gave to others do unconditionally .   8. Bud & family: I couldn’t even find the words to express my sympathy weeks ago. However, I want you to know that I will truly miss Liz. I will miss her smile, laugh and her cute remarks that I enjoyed so very much. I’m going to miss hearing her say “Oh, shit Mar” & the two of us laughing together! The only good thing about her passing is that she will be with Joey again. May God comfort your family at this time and always.
