Elizabeth Drozd Meszaros

Elizabeth Drozd Meszaros, 98, of Weirton, passed away Friday, February 7, 2003 in Hopedale, OH. She was born on October 13, 1904 in Dios Gyar Borsod, Hungary, a daughter of the late Stephen Kish and Elizabeth Szues Kish. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Gregory Drozd in 1938; her second husband, Paul Meszaros in 1975; and her daughter, Margaret Mankowski on January 8, 2003. Elizabeth was a homemaker and a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Elizabeth is survived by one son, George Drozd and his wife Betty of El Segundo, CA; one brother, Henry Kish of Cleveland, OH; two sisters, Julia Zavodynik and her husband Paul, and Isabelle Manzo and her husband Mike, all of Cleveland; son-in-law, John E. Mankowski of Weirton; five grandchildren, Joyce Griffin of Weirton, and Gregory Drozd, Linda Drozd, Teri Hunter, and Diane Matthews, all of California; and nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday from 9 AM until 10:30 AM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.
