Elizabeth Jane Kozdras, 91, of Weirton, WV, passed away, at her home , on Saturday October 31, 2015. Her loving family was at her side. Born in Zalia, WV, on November 5, 1923, Elizabeth was a daughter of the late Charles Harrison and Mabel Cantor Boyer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Peter Paul Kozdras on September 16, 1994; her two brothers, Paul and Chuck Boyer; and her sister, Margie Canei. Elizabeth graduated from Weir High in 1942 and went to Washington, DC to work in the Treasury Department. She returned to Weirton to work in the Social Security Department of Weirton Steel. In 1950, Elizabeth married her husband and began her life's greatest workher family Elizabeth loved life, and cherished the times she spent with her family. She was the best grandmother anyone could ever ask for. She will always be remembered for her strong Christian faith and her dedication to fitness, as she took her daily walks around Marland Heights. She is survived by her three sons, Peter "Danny" Kozdras of Weirton, WV, Kim (Janice) Kozdras of Columbia, SC, and Kris (Krista Anderson) Kozdras of Davidson, NC; her four daughters, Jane (Chice) Price of Canton, OH, Patricia (Denny) Boyd of Charleston, SC, Kathy (Anthony) Pietranton of Weirton, WV, and Carrie (Albert - Jay) Barnabei of Eastlake, OH; her nine grandchildren, Kellie (Brian)Hamilton, Joey (Sara) Price, Tommy Price, Christopher (Shannon) Boyd, Elizabeth, Anthony (Melissa DeAngelis), Mary, Daniel, and Emily Pietranton; her great grandchildren, Jack and Claire Hamilton; her nieces, Janet Stagani and Judy Elias. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Monday at Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV . Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Tuesday at Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 200 Preston Avenue Weirton. Rev. Fr. Tony Thurston will preside. Interment will follow at Saint Paul's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Weirton Madonna High School, 150 Michael Way, Weirton, WV 26062. The family would like to thank Dr. Khurana and the nurses in the wound care department of Weirton Medical Center.

  9. What a great lady! Libby was one of the most familiar and recognizable people on Marland Heights and the matriarch of a large family that she loved and was so very proud of. Your family must surely be celebrating her 91 years of life.
