Elizabeth Marie Balon

Elizabeth Marie Balon, 93, of Weirton, died Sunday, October 30, 2005 at Ohio Valley Hospital in Wheeling, WV. She was born November 19, 1911 in Bellaire, OH, a daughter of the late Joseph and Pauline Prelic. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Balon; a daughter, Sharon Lynn Brennan; two brothers Joe and Steve; and two sisters Toni and Helly.
Elizabeth was a homemaker, a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, and the Lady Slovak Association.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Tanua Metzner of Martins Ferry, OH, Shawn and Brian Brennan of San Diego, CA; and three great grandchildren, Sam Metzner, and Stella and Whitney Brennan.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 3, 2005 from 8:30 AM until the 10 AM service at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 140 Walnut Street, Weirton, WV 26062.

‘Libby’ was really great, and she was so sweet. We’d say “libby,libby,libby, on the label, label, label” and she’d laugh. I’ll never forget how she was there for me whenever I needed someone to talk to (or anything really,for that matter ~ a ride; some cash! May God Bless her). She ‘used’ to call me “sweetinkypieinky”. I so enjoyed meeting and spending time with cheerful Elizabeth. She and her granddaughter, Tanua, loved each other very much. And Tanua supported her so well. In their relationship was a beautiful example of family. Papap
