Eva (Mrs. Kenneth C.) Baker, 84, a longtime resident of Weirton, passed away Friday, January 25, 2002, at Carriage House, Steubenville, OH. She was born on January 25, 1918, the youngest daughter of Mae and Charles Cramer. She was recently preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Kenneth Carlton Baker, in May of 2001, and her oldest grandson, AWC (AW) Andrew Kenneth Baker, in a Navy helicopter crash with the Navy Seal Team in 1997. Also preceding her in death were her sisters and one brother: Opal Cramer, Marjorie (Beck) Goodwin, Mabel Glover, Mildred Tippens, Ruth Barker, and Paul Cramer. When Eva moved to Weirton from Tyler County, she became active in many organizations. She became a charter and lifetime member of the Weirton Heights Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxilliary, Star of the Valley Rebekah Lodge, Weirton Chapter No. 147 Order of the Eastern Star, Ladies Member to the Osiris Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of Wheeling, WV, Weirton Community Radio Watch, Three Score Senior Club, A.A.R.P. Chapter 3846, and the Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church. She leaves behind one son, Charles Paul Baker and wife, Loretta (Lonnie) Balo Baker of New Cumberland, WV and one daughter, Peggy Sue Baker Rohe and husband, Thomas L. of Pittsburgh, PA. Her grandson, Andrew, left behind his wife, Senior Chief Warrant Officer Tina (Hacker) Baker, and two sons, Andrew Kenneth Baker II and Jacob Harwell Baker of Middleburg, Fl. Her other grandsons include Jeffrey Paul Baker of Chester, WV, and his two sons, Nick and Dirk. Also surviving include Master Sgt. Douglas Preston Baker and wife, Kathleen, of Wetumpka, Alabama, and their two children, Sasha and Melissa; and Jason Daniel Baker and his wife Regina. Her youngest grandson is Ryan Baker Rohe of Peters Township. Visitation will be from 7-9 PM Saturday and 1-3 and 7-9 PM Sunday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday with Rev. Kregg Burris officiating. Eastern Star services will be held 7 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.
