Evelyn Virginia Koontz

Evelyn Virginia Koontz, 92, of Weirton, died Monday, November 14, 2005 at the Pinewood Boarding and Personal Care Home in Follansbee, WV.
She was born June 30, 1913 in Wilkinsburg, PA, a daughter of the late Calvin Baum and Marie (Hollaron) Baum. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Reed Koontz, one brother, three sisters, and one great grandson.
Evelyn was a homemaker and a member of Colliers Methodist Church, Colliers Naomi Rebekah Lodge #42, and the Brooke County Homemakers.
Evelyn is survived by one son, Ronald Koontz and his wife Ann of Harbor Springs, Michigan; two daughters, Corrine E. Kemp of Weirton and Helen Vernarsky of Norton, Massachusetts; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday with Pastor Tom Deane presiding.
Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Colliers, WV.
