Frances L. Zagula, 88, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2009 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH. Born February 14, 1921 in Weirton, she was a daughter of the late John and Sophie Bajek Wojdyla. She was also preceded in death by her husband Sigmund "Ziggy" Zagula on May 15, 1982, brother John C. Wojdyla and sisters Anna Hawrot, Stella Paisley, Catherine Zaleski and Mary Kostka and her special friend John Kurpil. Mrs. Zagula was a former employee of the C & P Telephone Company and Weirton Heights Hardware. She was a homemaker, a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where she volunteered for the Lenten Dinners, the Christian Mothers, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Hancock Brooke RSVP, the PNA Lodge 3001 where she was the secretary for several years, and for 27 years, was a faithful volunteer for Intrepid Home Health of Weirton. Frances is survived by her daughters Carol Zagula and Leona Hetrick and her husband Clinton all of Weirton; grandchildren Thomas Lafferty and his wife Tracy, Laura Cantrell and her husband Bill, Brian Hetrick and his wife Amy and Kathleen Hetrick; and two great grandchildren, Natalie and Alexander Lafferty. Friends will be received Friday from 3 -8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10AM Saturday at the Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church. The Reverend Father Kent Durig will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church or Intrepid Home Health of Weirton or to the Valley Hospice. Share tributes and memories at www.grecohertnick.com

Certainly she will be missed at SHM as well as in the PNA a Lodge 3001 along with her duties as a delegate in Council 50. She has lived a good lenght of life and now can rest with the Saviour!
