Francine Ann Greco-Kirchner peacefully departed into Heaven on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. Her loving and devoted husband of 19 years, Bernie Kirchner who faithfully remained at her side for the last seven weeks at the University of Florida Shands Hospital was at her side. Fran was 66 years old. Francine was born on August 13, 1955, in Weirton, WV, the third of five children born to Frank and Anna Iarossi Greco. In 1967, at the age of twelve, Francine was diagnosed with cancer and given only three months to live. Her mother, being a God-loving and prayerful woman, returned home and prayed to Jesus for her child, as only a mother could. She told him, “My daughter belongs to you, not me. I turn her life over to you believing and trusting in your will for her.” A mother’s prayers are the foundation of the home, and God was attentive to those prayers granting Francine fifty-four additional years of life. While attending medical school, Francine’s Hodgkins (cancer) returned and she received chemotherapy while never missing a day of class. She graduated from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and became an emergency room physician. She worked tirelessly dedicating her life to save others. She worked at Bethesda, JFK, Palm Beach Gardens, and Wellington Regional Medical Centers. While at Wellington, she served as Medical Director of the emergency department, and the hospital dedicated the Cancer Center in her name. Along with other physicians, Francine opened the Tequesta Urgent Care Center, and eventually retired from the JFK Medical Center Urgent Care. Francine was preceded in death by her father Frank L. Greco on March 24, 2007. Francine will be remembered with love and admiration by her husband, Bernie Kirchner, her beloved mother, Anna Iarossi Greco, sister, Peppi; and her brothers, Sam (Chris), Richard (Kristie), and Ron (Iris); nephew, John Krena; step daughters, Bristol and Sarajeanne; and numerous friends and relatives. Adhering to Francine’s wishes, Francine was cremated. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to your local animal shelter. One memory involves horse s, we both loved horses and her sister, Peppi, had a horse, retired race horse, and I got on it to go for a little ride but not for long!
