FRANCISKA WARGACKI, 103, POLISH WW2 SURVIVOR, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015 in Florida. THE LORD GIVETH & THE LORD TAKETH Franciska was born on November 11, 1911, to Eva & Wojeik Fusiek in Poland. Her mother schooled her since schools were for the rich. She married Marcin Wargacki on January 19, 1936. They purchased a farm soon after their marriage. In 1940, the Russians confiscated their farm and put Franciska, who was eight months pregnant, and her mother on cattle cars which took three weeks to reach Siberia. While on the train, her mother died and the soldiers threw her body off the train. She spent three years in a labor camp while raising her infant baby daughter. Her husband was inducted in the Polish army under England's jurisdiction. After three years, he was able to have her and his daughter moved to India under English jurisdiction. After spending six years there (Iran, India), they were reunited in England. From England, they migrated to the USA in Weirton, WV. She worked alongside her husband building houses; she mixed cement, carried bricks and did other construction jobs. Her husband Marcin passed away on April 24 1991. In 1992, she moved to Ponce Inlet with her family. They had one daughter Stephanie (Allan) Burnworth and four grandchildren: Allan Jr., Merritt Island, FL; Bryan (Amy) Sharpsburg, GA; Dr. Terrill (Brittney), Blacklick, OH; Yvette (John) Pandelos, Ponce Inlet, FL. She also leaves eight great grandchildren: Jennifer Leggett, Merritt Island, FL; Isabella (Bella) Burnworth, Sharpsburg, GA; Maddox & Andrew Burnworth, Blacklick OH; and John Jr. (JJ), Joshua, Kaitlyn & Jacob Pandelos, Ponce Inlet, FL. Her most precious times were when she would spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Church and the Rosary Society in Weirton, WV from 1948 to 1992, Weirton Heights Firemen's Auxiliary, the Golden Age Club and the Polish National Alliance (Kosciuszko Hall). She attended Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Korona, FL, where she had many loving friends. She enjoyed gardening and raising many beautiful roses and playing bingo up to last week. The family would like to thank Dr. Ashraf Elsakr, Dr. Mario Cucchiarella and Halifax Health Hospice for their excellent care. Friends will be received at Sacred Heart of Mary Church on Preston Avenue, Weirton on Tuesday from 9:00 until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00. Interment will follow at Saint Paul's Cemetery.
