
Frank J. Kepes
August 31, 1917 ~ September 10, 2006
Frank J. “Willie” Kepes 89 of Weirton passed away September 10, 2006 at the Weirton Medical Center. He was born August 31, 1917 in Pittsburgh, Pa. the son of the late Frank and Theresa Vidasitis Kepes. His brother Steve Kepes and sisters Gertrude Walker and Mary Kepes also preceded him in death.
Willie served his country in the US Army’s 1905th Engineers Aviation Battalion during WWII. He retired from the Weirton Steel Company where he was a rigger with 33 years of service. He was a member of St Paul Roman Catholic Church, the 25 year club of Weirton Steel, the VFW, the Italian Sons and Daughters, the Three Score senior citizens and was a former Weirton Baseball Association Coach.
He is survived by his wife whom he married in 1941, Mary M. (Pascarella) Kepes of Weirton, WV; daughter Lynda J. McKay and her husband Craig of Bethel Park, PA; son, Mark J. Kepes and his wife Debbie of Grayson, GA; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 13, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton, WV. A Knights of Columbus rosary will be recited at 6:00PM Wednesday evening in the funeral home. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be Thursday, 10:00AM at St Paul Catholic Church, Weirton, WV.
Interment will be at St Paul Cemetery, Weirton, WV where Military services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 10 and the Weirton Honor Guard.
