Howdy Neighbor- I cant tell you how deafening the silence is outside. I already miss the sound of klinking tools on the ground, engines revving, lawnmower roaring and hoses hissing! Did you even realize how much you were outdoors? Why, just Thursday you were outside washing the car at 730am! I shouted to you that you would make the rain come faster! It was great to see you riding your bike since your last surgery. You never let a health issue keep you down for long..nor did you ever complain about them. What a great example! Finally, I can not thank you enough for the countless times you sat in my house at 715am for Miranda while I took Matt the the bus stop. Also, for all of the battery jumps in the early mornings just because I left the dome light on all night! You saved me from getting choked by my husband several times. You never wasted a day, Fred! You were a great friend and Smith St. will miss your hand wave.So Long,Neighbor
Melinda and I wish to offer our deepest sympathy at this time of loss. Fred was a wonderful man and a great asset to the Polish National Alliance

Most sincere prayers and sympathy for all of you in this time of sorrow, especially to you dearest Monica. How many wonderful stories you shared about your father during the time that we worked together!! May angels surround you now and always. God Bless!
Joan, family, & friends, So sorry to learn of Fred’s passing. Our families shared many crossroads in our faith community at Sacred Heart, as our letter carrier who Dad always looked forward to meeting at the mailbox, and as a business and community leader in Weirton. Joan, Rita & I cherish the flowers you created for our wedding from Fred’s Florist. I always enjoyed working with Fred as we built up the Sacred Heart Campus or prepared for the Polish Picnics. We shared many free days working around the wells, the rectory, and the Cathedral in my teenage years. I had the honor of riding in the truck beside Fred as he drove the church bells from the old church to the new campus after they were removed from the old steeple. What joy it brought him as the loose clappers rang on that slow drive up the hill on Pennsylvania Avenue. I will always remember him fondly and continue to use the practical skills I learned in service work beside Fred. We also will hear his voice in chorus with the choir everytime we listen to the Polka Mass CD that Dad & Mom enjoyed so much in their final years. May you find comfort in knowing he is at Home with the Lord and watching over you all with Love.
I want to send condolences and prayers for Fred’s family, wife, children, brothers and sister. We grew up on the same street and I always think of the entire Hawrot family as an important part of my life. My love to all Dee
Dear Aunt Joan and all my cousins: My parents called me about Uncle Fred and a void has actually been in my heart since. I am down here in Texas and wish I could give you all hugs. Dear Mrs. Hawrot Reading over these wonder tributes to your husband and family has proven what a wonderful life you both have had together. To the Family: I remember as a kid waiting for “Fred, the mailman.” He was not only the mailman, but a friend. He took the time on a hot summer day, to take a break on our side porch and have a glass of ice tea. We always enjoyed his visits. You have my deapest sympathy.
Dear Mrs. Hawrot and Family, I was shocked and saddened to hear about Mr. Hawrot aka.” Freddie the Mailman.” Wonderful memories of the days when Barbara and I would wait for him to bring the mail. He always greeted us in Polish. Later in life he became the ideal altarboy and served reverently and faithfully. As the days go on, take each day as a gift from God, for God is with you to give you strength and courage. Sincerely, Rita R. Ruszkowski(Stella’s Daughter)

It is with our heart felt sorrow we wish to express our condolences to the family of Mr. Fred E. Hawrot. While I did not know him personally, I felt that I knew a little about him to say that he must’ve been a wonderful person to raise a wonderful, loving daughter, Rita, who has such a beautiful spirit. Eventhough words cannot express or take the hurt away, know that he is in a better place. I am sure that he is with you in spirit, always. Remember to “Let go & let God” carry you through these troubling times. May God keep & bless all of you. Blessings, Jackie, Norman, Jon and Andrew
Dear Mrs. Hawrot – I’m deeply saddened to learn of Fred’s passing. I remember chatting with the two of you last November when I was visiting my folks just before Thanksgiving. I will always remember him as our letter carrier and his love of music at Sacred Heart. Know that you and your familly are in my thoughts and prayers.
My deepest sympathy is with you and the family. As Fred would deliver mail, I would tell the councilman he needed to be the Mayor. I always remember him telling me I was nuts. He would have made a great Mayor. Again, my sympathy.
Dear Rita and Hawrot Family, Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your father. He was such a strong Christian man and wonderful example of a faith-filled life. My family and I were honored to have had him serve at my mother’s funeral mass just several weeks ago. I was very saddened to hear of his passing but know, as I’m sure you do, that both our parents now serve our Lord and Savior in person. You will be in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. Sincerely, Stan Poszywak
