Genevra Means, 94, of Weirton, died Sunday, December 1, 2002 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born on August 6, 1908 in Lewis County, WV, a daughter of the late A.J. Spray and Adeline Hinter Spray. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard S. Means on January 28, 1995; her brother, R.C. Spray; and her sister, Lucille Marsh. Genevra received her degree in education from the Glenville State College and taught grades 1-8 in a one room school in Lewis County for several years. Upon moving to Weirton in 1939, she became a very active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Trinity Lutheran Church Women. She was a devoted wife and mother and a wonderful friend to those in need. Genevra is survived by one son, Gerald Means of Morgantown; two daughters, Donna Getsinger and her husband Karl of Minneapolis, MN, and Carol Henry and her husband Michael of Morgantown; and two grandsons, Travis Henry and his wife Erin of Nashville, TN and Matt Henry of Morgantown. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Saturday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Additional visitation will be Sunday from 1 PM until time of services at 2 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Weirton. Pastor Nathan Gragg will officiate. Entombment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.
