George F. Drane
November 11, 1938 ~ October 14, 2013
George F. Drane, 74, of Weirton, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 in the Weirton Medical Center. Born November 11, 1938 in Berea, WV, he was a son of the late General Holden and Lela Mae (Husk) Drane.
With 35 years of service, George retired from the Weirton Steel Sheet Mill. During the Vietnam War, George served his country with the United States Army.
In his free time George enjoyed deer hunting, crossword puzzles or just solving the world's problems over a cup of coffee with his buddies at State Line Restaurant. He was a member of the Auburn United Methodist Church in Ritchie County WV and the Weirton Steel 25 Year Club.
Mr. Drane is survived by his wife Joyce (Payne) Drane; daughter Regina K. Costain and her boyfriend David McGraw; grandson Tanner Costain and his fiance Angelica Bryson all of Weirton; brother Ancil D. Drane and his wife Betty and sister Barbara Jean Davis and her husband Neil all of Belmont, WV; mother-in-law Mary Redish; brother-in-law George Payne and his wife Diane of Weirton, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be celebrated 11AM Thursday. The Reverend Father Frank Milanese will preside.
Interment will follow in Saint Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Weirton where Military Services will be conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard.

My favorite bedtime stories were ones that Mom would tell me about all the things they did in Richie County. Most of those stories included George Frank. I am so thankful that God allowed me to hear some of George Frank’s own stories at our family reunion. It was such a blessing. May you find comfort in HIm.

My Cousin Beverly was so right. George Frank has been around us since we were kids, He was indeed part of our family. Last July at our Family Reunion We got to spend time with him. I am so thankfull I was there to sit with him and share memories. His smile, his stories, his laughter, never to be forgotten. My Prayers to his family.
