Geza (Yabo) Perhacs
March 26, 1927 ~ April 18, 2007
Geza “Yabo” Perhacs, 80, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the Valley Hospice Palliative Care Unit in Steubenville, Ohio. Born March 26, 1927 in Dillonvale, Ohio, he was the son of the late Andrew and Julia Szuros Perhacs. Geza was also preceded in death by his wife Erminia Chek Perhacs, daughter Darlene Perhacs Deroski, brothers Andrew, Steve, John, Louis “Babe” and Joseph and sister Elizabeth.
Geza was a self employed car dealer in Weirton for 35 years after working at Crago Motor Supply of Weirton. He was a member of the North Side Church of God and served in the US Navy during World War II in a SeaBees battalion.
Geza’s survivors include his sons Paul Chek and his wife Laura of Concord, NC, David Chek and his wife Kathy of Mahwah, NJ, Michael Chek and his wife Cheryl of Weirton, Richard Chek and his wife Joan of Lafayette, CO and Daniel Chek and his wife Lori of Faquay-Verina, NC; son-in-law Michael Deroski of Toronto, OH; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild and sister Julia Balint of Munhall, PA.
The family will receive friends Sunday 1-3 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be conducted at 11AM Monday with Pastor Curt Moser presiding. Interment will be in Paris Cemetery, Paris, PA.

mike and family, my prayers are with you, you took time out to share your sorrow with my dad and my family, its so very hard, they were both very good men, yabo is at peace now also, now the memories will hold in our hearts forever. Its all in God’s hands now.

Gez was a very good friend with my family & deceased father. Gez & I renewed our friendship after the death of his beloved daughter. I sincerely feel your loss & I will miss him so very, very much. Gez was such a wonderful man & would be there to help whoever was in need. My sincere sympathy goes out to his entire family.
mike and cheryl. both jane and i were saddended to hear that yabo had passed away. eventhough we have not seen him in quite awhile we have many fond memories of him. he was a good man. we know he will be missed.
