Gloria Jean Byers

Gloria Jean Byers, 80, formerly of Weirton, WV, passed away Friday, September 10, 2010 at her home in Charlotte, NC. Born July 14, 1930 in Weirton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Candido (Cannie) and Anna Rinalo Mancinelli.
After 37 years of service, Gloria retired as the Head Bookkeeper for the Mary H. Weir Public Library System. Gloria was also a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
Gloria’s survivors include her husband, William S. Byers of Charlotte, NC; son, David W. Byers, and his wife Karen S. of Concord, NC; sister, Jeri Presley of Weirton, WV; 2 grandchildren, Kelly M. Clevenger of Concord, NC and Kristin E. Alexander of Lexington, NC; and 2 great-grandchildren, Samuel W. and Parker M. Clevenger, both of Concord, NC.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 5-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10AM Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weirton, with the Reverend Father Larry W. Dorsch as celebrant. Entombment will be at St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lake Norman, 705 Griffith Street, Suite 203, Davidson, NC 28036.

Bill & David, We have so many wonderful memories of Gloria, she was not just a neighbor, we felt like family and we will always remember her and miss her. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
