Harry Delbert Harris, 63, of Weirton died December 25, 2003 at the Weirton Medical Center.
He was born on January 13, 1940 in Hanlin Station, PA, the son of the late Harvey and Lilly Short Harris.
Harry was also preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Jane Jones, and Geneva Bell Barnhart.
Harry was employed as a custodian, at the Salvation Army in Weirton. Harry enjoyed ringing the bell for the Salvation Army Christmas Kettles.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Ayers, 3 sons, Carl J. Harris, Sr. of Weirton, WV, Jerry Lynn Harris of Steubenville, OH, and Delbert A. Mercer of Weirton; a daughter Mrs. Eric (Michelle) Yeater of Weirton, WV; a sister Mabel Moore of Weirton; 6 grandchildren
Visitation will be 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM Monday December 29, 2003, at The Salvaton Army 800 Cove Road Weirton
Captain Paul Egan will preside.

I remember that this was a man always spreading his cheer and goodness to everyone. This was a man that was like no other. I can still hear him playing his music like he did on Christmas at my mother’s. He will always be in all of our hearts. He will always be alive within our hearts.
This is his nephew, Don. Sorry to hear of your loss. Our condolences to you and your family.

Harry was my great uncle and he was a very man. everytime he would see anyone he would ask how you was. I will miss him very much.
Harry was my great uncle. Christmas will never be the same without the man who loved it the most. You will be missed.
