
Hartzell O. Lancaster
October 10, 1924 ~ July 22, 2003
Hartzell O. Lancaster, 78, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at his home. He was born October 10, 1924 in Reader, WV, the son of the late John E. and Bertie Mae Garrett Lancaster. Four brothers, Carlton, John S., Donald and Perry Lancaster; sister, Mavis Lancaster and grandson Douglas K. Beynon, Jr. also preceded him.
Hartzell retired with 32 years of service from National Steel where he was a mill wright in the Strip Steel Department. He was a member of the Church of Christ, the WSX 25-Year Club and AARP. Mr. Lancaster also served his country in the US Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Mallas Lancaster of Weirton; son, Hartzell John Lancaster and his wife Gloria of Weirton; daughters Cheryl Ivill and her husband David of Colliers, WV, Julia Diane Beynon and her husband Douglas and Carmella Mae Lancaster all of Weirton; brother Cary Lancaster and his wife Grace of McKinleyville, WV; and grandchildren, Lauri Beynon, Scott and James Ivill, Ashleigh, Amber and Angelica Lancaster.
Friends will be received Thursday 2 – 4 and 7 – 9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where services will be held at 1:00PM on Friday. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Weirton.

Pappy, I love you soo much. I miss you soo much more. I never lost anyone close to me, and i wish it didnt have to be you. You mean the world to me. And im always going to be your bright eyed bushy tail, Big brown eyes jsut wanting to be out in this world… Now im out here and i wish you could jsut see me… i love you pap. i miss you so does everyone.
