Helen D. Sweda

Helen D. Sweda, 91, of Weirton passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH.
Born in Stratton, Ohio on April 15, 1923 she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Kuruc Rozak.
She was also preceded in death by her husband John Sweda, three brothers Nicholas, Paul and Joseph Rozak; three sisters Anna Raptosh, Mary Osborn, Martha Neff and three infant brothers.
She was a homemaker, caregiver, enjoyed crocheting, sewing, baking and cooking. Helen was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church where she enjoyed making pierogies every year.
She is survived by a daughter Rebecca (Gary) Boggs of Rogers, OH; a son, John R. (Colleen) Sweda of San Jose California; four grandchildren Julie Sweda, Maureen Eldrige, John Sweda and Ivan Boggs; five great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Pauline Rozak of Stratton, OH; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1-3 and 6-8PM Sunday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV where Parastas services will be held Sunday evening at 7:30 PM.
Blessing Services will be held Monday at 9:30AM in the funeral home followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 10AM at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Ed Lucas officiating.
Interment will follow in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV.
