Mrs. Helen Holovak, of Mantua OH, died January 16, 2001 at the Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, OH after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Holovak was well known in Mantua as a proprietor of Cannon's Market and Helen's Bait and Tackle and was also night duty nurse at Portage County Nursing Home. She had also worked many years as an LPN at Weirton General Hospital. She was born on February 14, 1919, in Flat River Missouri the daughter of the late Michael & Tekla Hovista. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and William Hovista; a sister Anna Cannon. Mrs. Holovak was a beloved mother of three children, Dr. John M. Holovak and his wife Mary of McMurray, PA; Tillie King and her husband Lewis of Industry, PA and Helen Marie Holovak of Mantua, OH. Grandchildren, April (King) and her husband Kenneth Collier of Mantua OH; Scott King and his wife Charlotte of Akron, OH and Elyse Holovak and Michael Holovak of McMurray, PA and 4 great grandchildren, Cameron, Jon & Logan Collier & Nicholas King. She is also survived by a sister, Marie Koski and her husband Simon of Weirton, WV Mrs. Holovak was the aunt of Marilyn Hovista- Smith of Hurricane, WV and Debbie (Hovista) Docherty of Huntington Beach,CA and 7 grand nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 7-9 PM Thursday and 2-4 & 7-9 PM Friday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Fr.
