Helen Marie Jenkins
September 19, 1935 ~ January 5, 2021
Helen Marie Jenkins of Mingo Jct., OH, a wonderful mom, grandma, and great-grandma passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at the Valley Hospice Care Center Steubenville. She was 85.
Helen was born in Middlebourne, WV, on September 19, 1935, one of ten children born to Parley and Emma Mary Roberts Spencer.
Helen was a homemaker whose life centered around her family. She and her husband were blessed with a son, two daughters, eight grandchildren, and eventually fifteen great-grandchildren. She loved them all. She would do anything to help others. She never met a stranger.
Helen grew up with the Salvation Army Church and was very active in her adult years with the Salvation Army in Steubenville, where she was involved in the Home League, Kettles. She served as a Girl Guard Leader and cooked and served the meals for all lunches and dinners with the lady’s auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, James Christopher Jenkins on September 18, 2017; her brothers, Burl, Earl (Peas), Wilbur (Frank), Clinton (Buck) and Lawrence (Lard) Spencer; and her sisters, Betty J. Beegle and Patricia Haley.
She will be remembered with love by her children, Jimmy D. (Tammie) Jenkins, Pamela S. (Clyde) Parks, and Deborah Wheatley; her sisters, Donna L. (Clair) Trost, and Carolyn Spencer; her eight grandchildren and her fifteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Friday 9:00 AM until time of services at 11 AM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton.
Interment will be in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV

Pam and family, I have very fond memories of Helen, my mom Sharon was also involved with the Salvation Army and Home League. Not only was she sweet but she had an amazing sense of humor. Hugs and prayers!!!
