Helen Theresa Quatro, 89, of Weirton died Wednesday December 8, 2004, at the Palliative Care Unit of Valley Hospice.
Helen was born on July 2, 1915, in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Marcel and Scolastyka Jonczak Chmielewski. She was also preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, James P. Quatro, on January 26, 1983; two brothers, Edward and Stanley Chmielewski; two sisters, Connie Dawson and Elizabeth Chmielewski.
Helen and her husband owned and operated the former Ethel and Jacks on the corner of Pennsylvania Ave and Colliers Way, and the Broadview Club on Weirton Heights. She also worked as a sales associate, at the Smart Shop, in downtown Weirton.
Helen was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. In her free time she enjoyed Bowling in the Tuesday Night Leagues at the Steel Valley Bowling Lanes, and also loved to play BINGO.
She is survived by her sister, with whom she made her home, Virginia Williamson; her two nephews, Tom and David Durkin of Weirton, WV; her three nieces, Renee Williamson of Chester, WV, Patty Sharp of Warren, OH, and Gwen Haspel of Weirton, WV; 6 great nieces and nephews; ten great great nieces and nephews.
Visitation and funeral services will be private.
Entombment will follow at the Saint Paul Cemetery Mausoleum, Weirton.
