Helen W. McAtee, 80, of Weirton, died Tuesday, August 22, 2005 at Heritage Place in Weirton. She was born March 1, 1925 in Beech Bottom, WV, the daughter of the late Stanley and Helen Groncewski Sobieraj. She was also preceded in death by her husband John Willard McAtee on January 7, 1993; her infant son Donald McAtee, brothers Adam and William Sobieraj and sister Eva Spears. Helen was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and the Polish National Alliance. She is survived by her sons, John McAtee and his wife Becky of Benton, AK, Daniel McAtee and his wife Terrie of Weirton and Ronald McAtee and his wife Patti of East Liverpool, OH; daughters Patricia Cox and her husband Steve and Ruth Hartley and her husband Keath all of Weirton; six grandchildren, one great grandson, five step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. Visitation will be 7-9PM Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 PM Wednesday at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where a Vigil Service will be held at 8:30 PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Thursday at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Weirton with Father Kent Durig as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
