Herbert W. Shreves

Herbert W. Shreves, 79, of New Cumberland, died Friday May 18, 2001, at his residence.
He was born September 12, 1921 in Sistersville, WV the son of the late James A. and Flossie Rutter Shreves. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Romaine I. Market Cotherman Shreves in Feb. 1991, four brothers Raymond P., Homer, Arthur, and James B. Shreves
Herbert was a PGA Head Golf Professional with 16 years service at Pleasant Valley Country Club and 20 years service at Williams Country Club. He was also a member of PGA, VFW 2716, and AARP
He is survived by, his son, Edmond Cotherman, a daughter in law, Patricia, 2 brothers: Eugene of Wisconsin, and Roy of Moundsville, 4 sisters, Kathleen Lough of East Liverpool, Joann Ruth Billiter of Friendly, Carolyn Davis of Columbus, and Mary Rea of Sistersville, 4 grandchildren: Mrs. Dave (Lynette) Midcap, Lori Porco, Charles Cotherman, and Carrie Cotherman, 2 step-granchildren, Mrs. Roger (Debra) Sparks and Mrs. (Art) Denise Chappell, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 7-9 PM Saturday and 1-3 and 7-9 PM Sunday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV.
Funeral will be 11 AM Monday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery

We dearly loved Herb and he will be deeply missed by us his siblings – Gene, Roy, Kathatleen, Joann and Mary – his sisters-in-law – Maxine, Alice, Barbara, Madeline and Helen and his nieces and nephews. We have many fond memories of Herb and now we must be happy for him as we know he has gone home to be with the Lord.
