Ida Bilkowski, 85, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009 in the Weirton Geriatric Center. Born August 17, 1924 in Weirton, she was a daughter of the late Adam and Bernice Marcziewska Mankowski. She was also preceded in death by her husbands John Oleska and John Bilkowski, brothers Frank, Stanley, Tony, John and Edward Mankowski and sister Laura Bernice Rosiak. Mrs. Bilkowski was a homemaker. During World War II, she worked as a tin flopper for Weirton Steel. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Rosary Society and T. Kosciusko. Ida is survived by her brothers Joseph and Walter Mankowski and sisters Ann Kasprzak all of Weirton and Mary Kowalik of Wheeling; her many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Christian Mother's Rosary at 6 PM follwed by a Vigil Service at 6:30 PM Friday, in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10AM Saturday at the Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church.
