Ida M. Vargo

Ida M. Vargo, 93, of Weirton died Thursday July 24, 2014 at the Convalarium at Indian Run in Columbus, OH. Born on February 6, 1921 in Cambrook PA, Ida was a daughter of the late Peter and Caroline (Stefan) Nagy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Vargo; her son, Larry Vargo; her brother, Joseph Nagy and her two sisters, Helen Krivak and Margaret James. Ida was a homemaker who enjoyed playing cards, watching sports on TV especially football and the Pittsburgh Steelers and golf and Lee Trevino. She was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by her son, John Vargo, II and his wife Margie of Marysville, OH; her three granddaughters , Buffie Vargo Pepe, Diane Wallace and Shelly Weber; and her six great grandchildren, including Amelia Pepe. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Tuesday at Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church 200 Preston Avenue Weirton, WV. Rev. Fr. Manuel Gelido will preside.
